Leaders with Promise – Module 4

The 4th module of the Leaders with Promise program, focused on “Skills Development of Future Leaders” with a total of 29 members attended.

Day 1: Sessions Conducted by Prof. Amal Kumarage

Session 1: Leadership through Personal Attributes and Character
Time: 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM
Overview: Prof. Kumarage emphasized the significance of personal attributes and character in effective leadership. Participants were encouraged to reflect on their own traits and how these can influence their leadership style.

Session 2: Leadership in Decision Making and Setting Direction
Time: 11:30 AM – 1:00 PM
Overview: This session focused on the critical role of decision-making in leadership. Participants engaged in discussions and activities aimed at enhancing their strategic thinking and direction-setting skills.

Session 3: How to Lead Your Team
Time:
 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM
Overview: In the final session of the day, Prof. Kumarage shared strategies for effective team leadership. Members participated in group exercises that encouraged collaboration and communication.

Day 2: Sessions Conducted by Rev. Dr. Chrissokumar Handy & Mrs. Chryshanthi Jayasooriya

The second day featured a series of four sessions designed to deepen participants’ understanding of various aspects of leadership and ministry.

Sessions 4 and 5: Excellence of Ministry by Rev. Dr. Chrissokumar Handy

Overview: Rev. Dr. Handy guided the members on maintaining excellence in ministry and how their efforts should uplift the AG Ceylon. The sessions included interactive discussions that inspired participants to reflect on their roles within the ministry.

 

 

Session 6: Grooming and Development of Social Skills by Mrs. Chryshanthi Jayasooriya

Overview: Mrs. Jayasooriya focused on grooming, social skills, soft skills, dining etiquette, and dress sense. A practical session on dining etiquette was part

icularly well-received, where members participated in a simulated five-course meal, enhancing their skills in a fun and engaging manner.

Sessions 7 and 8: The Use of IT and social media to Enhance Our Ministries by Pas. Suranga Athukorala
Overview:
 Pas. Athukorala explored the potential of information technology and social media in enhancing ministry efforts. The sessions included practical tips and tools for leveraging technology effectively.

The Leaders with Promise 4th Module Program successfully facilitated an environment of learning and engagement centered around the key topic of “Skills Development of Future Leaders.” Participants were enthusiastic and actively involved in all sessions, showcasing a strong commitment to their personal and professional development.

Feedback from attendees indicated a high level of satisfaction with the program’s content and delivery. Participants expressed eagerness for future sessions that build upon these foundational skills.
